Blair Waldorf – Darjeeling First Flush
We all know how much Blair loves champagne so she would most definitely drink the champagne of teas. The Darjeeling First Flush is a fine tea, one of the finest from India, made from the spring harvest leaves of the Camellia Sinensis Sinensis varietal. In the tea world people joke that it’s Far Too Good For Ordinary People, which you know Blair would just LOVE about this tea. It’s the kind of tea Dorota would make for her every morning before she starts her day. The Darjeeling First Flush has to be steeped 2-3mins in 90C water or the whole day is ruined from the get-go, which Dorota feels bad about but then Blair moves on to a scheme and shows her forgiveness but involving Dorota.
Chuck Bass – Organic Aged Pu’erh
Chuck is so often seen drinking scotch that it’s just natural to assume he would pick a tea with scotch tasting notes, like this Organic Aged Pu’erh. But he wouldn’t just pick it up in New York! No, Chuck would be travelling in Asia and on a stop in China he’d be introduced to this tea, which is from the province of Yunan. He’d be drinking it casually at first but then he’d pick up a few cartons to take home. After he finishes all the tea Chuck would either insist on getting it exported or he’d make regular trips to China to pick up some more Organic Aged Pu’erh.
Serena Van Der Woodsen – Matcha because it’s trendy AF
The golden girl would definitely go for a trendy tea and what tea is trendier than matcha? Serena would try to make it herself at first with this Matcha Essentials Bundle. But then she would let someone else take over the making process (probably a cute guy who had a crush on her). Or she’d give up and just start buying her matcha lattes at a café. Not only is the drink trendy but it’s also very good for the skin, which Serena would definitely be into. For those of you who want to make your own, there is the Matcha Essentials Bundle to help you get started! And, if you’ve already got started on making it for yourself, Genuine Teas has 3 ceremonial grade powders for you to choose from: Kato Matcha Organic Spring Harvest, Kato Matcha Spring Harvest (regular, non-organic) and Kato Matcha Summer Harvest.

Dan Humphrey – Earl Grey
Lonely Boy probably doesn’t know much about tea, or how many different kinds of teas are out there, so he goes for something classic like Earl Grey. Black tea fuels his writing and he likely has a whole stash at home to brew at a moment’s inspiration. When he first starts drinking tea Dan would begin with straight Earl Grey and then once he got a more refined palate thanks to dating Serena Van Der Woodsen moved onto Lavender Earl Grey and Cream of Earl Grey. Dan probably goes straight for the tea bags but maybe indulges in a loose leaf steep once in a while.
Nate Archibald – Let’s be honest, it varies
Nate Archibald is definitely drinking whatever other people give him. He maybe branches out a couple times to find his own favourite teas but for the most part he doesn’t care what he’s drinking. Chuck would give him an Organic Aged Pu’erh but Nate would want something with a bit more flavour so he would turn to Cacao Pu’erh. It’s got a richer, more velvety, flavour profile. When he’s dating Blair he’d try the Darjeeling First Flush and when he’s dating Serena he’d have some matcha. Once he’s friends with Dan he’d be having a lot of Earl Grey. At some point he would hear about adaptogenic mushrooms and would try it to see if he could get high off the Organic Chaga Mushroom Powder, Organic Lion’s Mane Mushroom Powder or the Organic Reishi Mushroom Powder. Nate would find out he can’t get high off these teas because they’re adaptogenic not psychoactive mushrooms.
