GRS stands for Global Recycled Standard and, similar to GOTS, is for certifying the environmental and social standards of the supply chain process. Unlike GOTS, the supply chain process for GRS involves products made from at least 20% recycled materials.

GRS certification ensures the item's manufacturing process was environmentally safe for all laborers involved, from gathering the materials to be recycled to creating the final product.

Like GOTS, the GRS certification also ensures all workers throughout the supply chain process were in safe labour conditions, were paid fairly, and had the right to collective bargaining (yay unions!!). So when you buy a GRS certified product you know you're buying something that is not just eco-friendly but that was also made in excellent working environments.

On a personal level, I was really excited to find GRS certified products for the shop! Recycled products help reduce the amount of materials dumped in the landfills, which helps our earth while also giving us cute items - it's a win/win!
